England Under 17 Coach John Peacock

A year after its launch, we are proud to announce that John Peacock delivered our 1st Anniversary event in partnership with Northumberland FA and Newcastle United Foundation on Friday 27th January.

The theme of the clinic was 'playing positively through central areas’.

John holds both The FA Academy Director's Licence and the UEFA Pro Licence, making him a highly experienced football coach who specialises in youth development and coach education.

He is now in his second spell with The FA, having rejoined in 2002 as National Coach. He is responsible for England U17s and has managed over 150 international games, reaching the finals of the UEFA Championships and the semi-finals in 2003 and 2004.

In May 2007, John led England to the Final of the European Championships where they lost narrowly to Spain and then onto the Quarter Finals of the World Cup in Korea that summer.

John then led England to glory in May 2010, when his side won the European Championship, beating Spain in the Final in Liechtenstein after a season which saw his side unbeaten throughout.

With these being just a few examples from John’s career, we are delighted that he agreed to visit the North East for Coach The Coach and the clinic was a fantastic success with almost 100 coaches in attendance from pro club academies through to under 7 mini soccer grassroots teams.
